Ruthie Foster's tenth album doesn't strictly adhere to the 'blues' label, but is just as strongly influenced by soul, gospel and country. With Tyler Bryant behind the controls, the Nashville-recorded 'Mileage' sounds both light and penetrating. With Her song 'Rainbow' tells the story of living as a black woman in the LGBTQ+ community, while also writing about the experiences she's had throughout her illustrious career, such as on the title track.
