Formed in 1985 in Queens, New York, A Tribe Called Quest is a legendary hip hop group consisting of Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jarobi White. They were known for their unique style that combined jazz samples and socially conscious lyrics, making them pioneers in hip hop.

Their debut album, People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm (1990), introduced their innovative sound. The Low End Theory (1991) and Midnight Marauders (1993) are classics that blended deep bass lines and lively samples with clever lyrics. Despite breaking up in 1998, they reunited in 2016 for their final album, We Got It from Here... Thank You 4 Your Service , a tribute to Phife Dawg, who had died earlier that year.
