We live in an age of remasters, remixes, and reimaginations, but a band releasing a 'director's cut' of an album that's already thirty years old is something this writer has never seen before. On Placebo Re:Created the alt-rock band fronted by Brian Molko re-approaches their debut with quite a few studio tricks they hadn't even invented in 1996. 'Nancy Boy' already sounded mega back then, however rough-and-ready it was recorded; now you can experience it as if it were IMAX.
